Operation Phoenix was created as a submission for the Ubisoft Next Level Design challenge. It is a stealth action level with multiple game play options, puzzles to solve, collectables and enemies to avoid set in a Basilica grounds and crypt in Tuscany, Italy.

Level Design
Overview
A top-down view of the finished level. The Basilica grounds includes several gardens, a rectory, stables, maze, cemetery, and underground crypt. The #D image captures the silhouette of the 2D design, yet includes the modifications added to enhance game play as the build progressed.
Level Tutorial
Starting area, includes the mission objective, notes, a tower for a vantage point and teaches collecting (ammunition and treasure).
Garden I
This area teaches the stealth mechanic in a safe area where there is plenty of cover.
Garden II
In each path, a second garden area was created to teach the entry with key mechanic and enhanced the challenge with the addition of search lights.
Rectory (east path)
In the rectory and the stables on the west path, the player encounters more challenging enemies, and is introduced to the puzzles. They receive further mission direction and are able to view the next area through vantage points.
Stables
The stables includes a loft vantage point to see the upcoming maze and side entry to the Basilica (west path).
Maze
The maze (west path) and the cemetery (east path) provide the clues to solve the puzzle and enter the locked door into the Basilica.
Cemetery
The cemetery on the (east path) is the location of the clues to the puzzle to enter the Basillica.
Gate
On the east and West paths, the power mechanic is taught to prepare the player for the final challenge.
Basillica
Behind the alter in the Basilica is the entry into crypt. A note guides the player to continue the mission.

Within the Basilica, search lights and enemies continue to increase in difficulty -if a play choose the central path, it is more difficult they miss some teaching.
Crypt 1
Once in the crypt, a note details the next piece of the mission.

As the player proceeds deeper into the underground, they must avoid multiple guards and search lights increasing stealth challenge.
